About Me
A scientist and a creative - yes they do go together!
With a background in Geography and Oceanography, and a keen scuba diver, my interests are firmly rooted in the natural world. I have learned about the problems our changing planet faces, and how ecosystems and communities are closely interlinked. One of the biggest lessons I've learned so far is the way we communicate science matters. The way we communicate matters.
As well as a fascination with all things marine and freshwater, I also have an extensive list of creative interests. Dance, acrylic painting, photography, writing...I'll stop there.
Now, a question. What makes the arts so appealing to us? Is it because we are entertained? Is it because we feel part of a community? Or do we relate to something that is visual and expressive? Spoiler alert, I think it's all these things - and plenty more besides. So can we combine art and science to promote engagement? Can we use creativity to share research findings, inspire people with scientific projects, and work towards a better future for our planet?
Hi, my name is Corinne.
I'm a digital communicator, oceanographer, part-time painter and full-time fish fanatic, from Surrey and currently living in Worcester. I have had the pleasure of working on one of the largest river restoration projects of its kind in Europe. Combining science and creativity, I helped tell the story of the project to our digital audiences. Come with me as I take you through my work on Unlocking the Severn. I'm very proud of being a part of this project, and I can't wait to show you the things I created along the way.
